The gifts of strangers. I had been photographing butterflies in the morning and while walking back to the car I got into a conversation with a lady walking her dog. We both remarked how extraordinarily lucky we were to have such a wonderful environment in and around Devizes, Wiltshire. She suggested that I go up onto Salisbury Plain to look for poppies. What she didn't say was that she could organise beautiful light and passing thunder storms. It turned into one of those joyful moments when you simply rejoice in being present. The light only lasted a couple of minutes and just twenty minutes later I was completely drenched from head to toe by the storm drifting south from Trowbridge.
